Our 100% handmade Çakır Dikeni Kaftan, crafted from raw linen fabric, was meticulously shaped by an artisan in Istanbul and then brought to life by the fingertips of a talented Turkish woman.

Your product is adorned with needle lace inspired by the Çakır Dikeni, a mountain flower.

According to ancient traditions still practiced in some parts of Anatolia today, a bride cannot speak as she pleases when she comes to her husband's home...

During the traditional Mevlüt ceremony held the day after the wedding, the bride, by covering only her mother-in-law (the groom's mother) with a veil adorned with Çakırdikeni needle lace, conveys the message "Don't prick me like a thorn"...

The Çakır Dikeni needle lace dates from the early 20th century to the present day, and the region of origin for this lace is Çamlıyayla (Namrun) district of İçel province.

Under the influence of her surroundings, the Turkish woman expressed her feelings and thoughts in lace with colors and motifs.

ABOUT THE BRAND

Linoya Artisan is a design brand focused on cultural and social impact, reviving traditional Turkish handicrafts and textiles with modern designs, operating with a sustainable fashion approach, providing employment to local women artisans, and striving to introduce our traditional needlework art and other handicrafts (wire breaking, lace, etc.) to the world.

Needlework is one of the most important examples of our traditional culture and handicrafts. Needlework, one of the starting points of the LINOYA brand, is an art entirely unique to the Turkish people. Needlework, which has entered world literature as "Turkish Lace" or "Needle Lace," has very ancient documentation in Anatolia. It is also believed that the biggest factor in the emergence and development of needlework was Anatolia's location on the Silk Road and its silk production.
