The handmade Elif shirt, crafted from 100% raw linen fabric, takes shape in the meticulous hands of an artisan and then comes to life as "EFE LACE" through the skilled fingers of a Turkish woman.

This lace, known as EFE LACE in Anatolia and specially embedded in the back of the Elif Shirt, originates from the Aegean region.

Although laces are predominantly used in women's head adornments, they are also found in men's clothing. For instance, a "poşu" adorned with laces embroidered by young women is tied to an "efe" headdress.

Laces were used in men's clothing not only on headwear but also on money pouches, seal pouches, groom's undershirts, and handkerchief edges, among other items.

Efe Laces are embroideries prepared by wives for soldiers going to war, to encourage them and wish for their safe return home.

The region for this lace, known as EFE LACE in Anatolia, is the Aegean region.

With its small and simple details, the Elif Shirt promises you an elegant chicness and a masculine vibe simultaneously…

ABOUT THE BRAND

Linoya Artisan is a design brand focused on cultural and social impact, reviving traditional Turkish handicrafts and textiles with modern designs, operating with a sustainable fashion approach, providing employment to local women artisans, and striving to introduce our traditional needlework art and other handicrafts (wire breaking, lace, etc.) to the world.

Needlework is one of the most important examples of our traditional culture and handicrafts. Needlework, one of the starting points of the LINOYA brand, is an art entirely unique to the Turkish people. Needlework, which has entered world literature as "Turkish Lace" or "Needle Lace," has very ancient documentation in Anatolia. It is also believed that the biggest factor in the emergence and development of needlework was Anatolia's location on the Silk Road and its silk production.
