After having completed my bachelor’s degree in International Relations in Koc University, I, Dilan, started working at a corporate company. I was spending my weekends at various workshops, as I was day by day coming to the realization that I was not suited for a desk job. I see it clearly now; this hole, in fact, could be filled by adopting the habit of experiencing things that make you happy in life on a daily basis…

Gaios came into my life right at that moment…

How did it happen? I was in need of a hair accessory – as most of us women did – and there were no places to find one. Hair accessories were lost among other kinds of in-demand accessories; they weren’t much focused on. They were mixed up with necklaces; couldn’t find the value they deserved. Quality hair accessories were far from affordable prices and there wasn’t much variety.

On days I wanted to feel different and better, the hair accessories I had purchased from abroad were coming to my rescue. It didn’t take too long for me to realize that I could, in fact, combine this lack of hair accessories in the market with the hole inside of me and turn it into a huge plus. With that, as you might guess, I rolled up my sleeves and released my first products. My dreams got bigger each and every day. My researches ended up bringing me to the middle of mythology; and my dreams of bringing the strong female figures in mythology to present day gave life to the meaning of Gaios. This adventure shared the same goal with my habit of my redecorating the packs of the gifts i’d give to people since childhood; it’d keep going on and on as long as I saw that it made people happy…

The people I could touch on their happiest moments carried a part of me and Gaios was growing with sharing! At births, engagements, henna parties and weddings; even on the days that might be called the most classic, Gaios was keeping women away from the classic look, and also making me a part of their happiness. I had the chance to be the closest observer of how much a hair accessory can increase the self-confidence of a woman in the simplest outfit, and make her stand out in the crowd. People could hardly take their eyes off you when you carried a product which reflected you, and a ‘once complementary’ accessory would become the main focus point. Maybe one day the words ‘hair accessory” will be replaced by ‘Gaios’, which was created by a young girl who started doing what she loved and grew bigger as she kept touching people’s lives.

Because life was too short to be unhappy. We have more dreams to make them come true and a family waiting to grow.
